Traditional Felting Process
Fur Preparation
The soft underfur is carefully shaved from the pelt and separated from coarser guard hairs for optimal felting quality.
Bowing & Forming
Using a specialized bow-like tool, the fur is scattered into even layers and then pressed into a cone-shaped "hood" structure.
Felting & Fulling
The hood undergoes repeated folding and pressing with hot water, followed by boiling to compact and strengthen the felt before final shaping.
